Bridges, Phillips Bridge, IN
Parke County in western Indiana has 32 covered bridges, century-old landmarks of our rural past. The Phillips Bridge, Parke County’s shortest, is only 43 feet long. Often called the Arabia Bridge, the Phillips Bridge is located near an area known as Little Arabia, perhaps for the Syrian Moslems who settled in the vicinity. The Phillips Bridge was built by Joseph Britton in 1909 and has a King Post Truss construction.
