Architecture, OLD TOWN HALL, MEDINA, OHIO
The moon rises over the old town hall and firehouse on the square in Medina, Ohio. The town, originally called Mecca, is named for the Arabian city where Mohammed is buried. After the town’s business area suffered major fires in 1848, 1870, and 1877, the town bought a fire engine that could be pulled by men or horses and that could pump 425 gallons a minute. Medina is also home to the A. I. Root Company, the nation’s largest producer of beekeeping supplies.
