Wildlife, BABY EASTERN COTTONTAILS, AKRON, OHIO These baby Eastern Cottontails were huddled together in a fur-lined nest in a meadow at Seiberling Naturealm near Akron, Ohio, where they narrowly missed being mangled by a lawn mower in early summer. Unlike their European cousinds, which construct extensive underground burrows called warrens, the eastern cottontail lives above ground, only retreating to hollow logs or an old groundhog burrow in severe weather.
